Fergal is a London-based British and Irish actor, whose parents hail from county Wicklow. He was nominated in the 2022 Off-West End Awards for his portrayal of D.C. Wilby in Barrie Keefe's 'Sus', a sociopathic right-wing police constable, reviewed by The Stage as "impeccable" and The Upcoming as "acted pristinely... fantastic".
Among extensive credits, he has worked on screen for HBO, E! TV, BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and The History Channel. Meanwhile, on stage he has appeared in the West End's 'The Mousetrap', the UK No.1 tour of the Olivier Award-winning musical, 'The Bodyguard' and he played Dr Sanderson in the classic 'Harvey', at Vienna's English Theatre.
He graduated from the University of Nottingham with a bachelor’s degree in English and Classics before he undertook traditional British actor training at Drama Studio London. In 2014, he began producing theatre in order to bring to the stage the scripts he was most passionate about, and Orangutan Productions was born.
The first production was Shakespeare's ‘Othello’, later followed by two forgotten classics of socio-political importance, ‘Sus’ and ‘For King and Country’. Each production was highly acclaimed with four-star reviews and a host of Off-West End Award nominations. For several years he produced a bi-annual scratch night called 50/50, a gender-balanced performance night on the theme of gender identity, providing a platform for dozens of emerging artists.
